It’s About the Environment

Happy Friday, Debaters!  Yet another state has decided to go ahead with a ban on plastic bags.  Hawaii is giving people 2 years to get used to the new rule. Will New York be next?

Speaking of banning plastic bags, the new debate topic also has a lot to do with our environment. Have you found any similarities between the plastic bag debate and the fracking debate?

The Bronx Debate Warriors take on the Brooklyn Dominating Debaters

D 75 Debate thanks the 369 K Dominating Debaters and the 17 X Debate Warriors for kicking off Round 3 today. The competition is definitely hot this this time around- just ask the judges.  It was an extremely close debate, with both teams scoring in the 90s in most categories. In the end, the Bronx Debate Warrriors pulled out the win, but we know that we have not heard the last from the Dominating Debaters (who just happen to be last year’s champs, by the way).  Check out the original video that that the Warriors put together to help sway the judges today.

In other news, check out this article about plastic bags in this month’s Upfront Magazine for kids, as well as this article in the BBC news.  So… what SHOULD be done about plastic bags?  D 75 Debaters are always ahead of the game!
